Far tooooo hot!

Our local official weather station had the dubious honour of recording the highest ever temperature in the UK!

The weather station is at Coningsby about 12 miles from here ..... it recorded 40.3C ..... a nearby resident cooked an egg on the pavement!

There was also a strong breeze which, unfortunately, was hot! It was like trying to breathe treacle! I couldn't stay outside .... I shut myself in the house with windows & curtains closed ... like living in the dark ages!

Not how I want to spend a summer day!

Did open the curtains a small amount early in the day .... noticed this Blackbird fledgling being fed by mum .... then laying down in the garden. Love the expression in its face!
