Scarce Swallowtail

… alighted on the Buddleia that I wasn’t cutting down today. He or she, has clearly been “in the wars” as you can see in extra. Although these are truly scarce in Britain, they are not uncommon in Europe but it is rare that I see any here.

A lovely visit to see Alison, my Canadian goddaughter, extra) who is visiting her father for a week. Great to catch up after about 8 years!
