Goodbye Mum

This was the photo that was on a screen at the beginning and end of her funeral today. A small, short and simple service with a celebrant. Pretty pink and white roses on the coffin. Dad read the eulogy, focusing on her life as a child of a war and fleeing the communist occupied Czechoslovakia to her life in Australia, her graduation from Uni on a scholarship, marriage, children, career, retirement and hobbies. He did well, and said goodbye in Czech, a language he learned a little. Our childhood friend BB attended, plus neighbours and a couple of friends. They have plans to keep Dad occupied which is nice. He was very pragmatic today, yet understandably tired. My sister too, it’s good a weekend is here. Much needed!
Thank you all for all your kind words, comments, stars and favourites - it’s really made a difference.

Rest well now Mum.
