Fresh Air

By MH

19th century Newhaven.

Great series of old photos of the railway in its heyday round here. This engine was being lifted off the harbourside to be taken to the Paris Exhibition in 1889.  The huge lifting gear is a "sheerlegs".

Extra is a cormorant. I had time to kill  - so a cup of tea in the new bistro The Sidings, and a walk along the riverside, whilst I waited for my air-con to be re-gased. Takes an hour and a half.
