The boys are back in town!

Today, I saw the first hoverfly of the year in our garden. It was feeding on a flower of Caltha palustris (marsh marigold, kingcup) beside our pond. Consensus with my friend in Buglife Scotland is that it is probably from the genus Megalyna but we aren't sure about the species. Lovely to see the return of one of my favourite groups of insects for photography.
