Salt Mill

It's been a nonstop day at college.
We all put our boards up first thing. Yet again it was amazing to see all the different samples and projects that everyone has done. I'm really looking forward to seeing and hearing about more of them tomorrow when we do our presentations.
We've had a couple of lectures on contextual history stuff, which has helped as this is the bit of the course I've still not got my head around.
This afternoon we ventured to Salts Mill in Shipley to look at the Bradford Textile Society competition winners. This is an annual competition that's open to students and designers in textiles. The range of work and displays was great and it was a great opportunity to see other ways of doing design work and final samples. The only big criticism was that it was really hard to see why certain pieces came first whilst others didn't. The briefs were not displayed with the work either so you had no idea what the entrants were aiming for.
There was a lot of great inspiration though and I'm glad we went.
Salts Mill itself is a fantastic place with a fab bookshop and a gorgeous home furnishings shop that had me drooling. I did find a big glass jar that will go in the new bathroom, just will be fun dragging it home.
A few of us went out for curry this evening and it was delicious.
Chilling out now for the rest of the night and might tackle some knitting.
