Stirling Castle and City.

This morning we did a wander round a local garden centre then took Chloe for a walk at the Wallace Monument. A fairly stiff but short climb which must be good for the leg muscles.
Well worth the effort for the views all round from East to West by the South (too many trees and some big hills directly to the North)
The big feature apart from the castle is the huge meander - one of many - in the foreground. The Forth, as it nears the North Sea, meanders across the Carse like a very drunken sailor. Navigating these twists and turns must have been merry hell for shipping back in the day when Stirling was a working port!
We were fortunate with the weather which has remained dry and allowed us to do some gardening this afternoon. This has just all changed and it is currently absolutely persisting down! Oh well, saves us watering the weeds.
