Lava Strategy

The Nether in Minecraft is a very dangerous, lots of lava, which moves as fast as water, and there is no water in the Nether either. I have been developing my mining strategy.  I cut a three by three tunnel, standing on a central  row of blocks, so if I accidentally mine into lava, it flows down either side of me till I have time to plug the hole. As you can see by the photo, it works. It saves me from burning to death.
