Wild goats

A surprise visit from Jacqui and Fletch this morning, on their way back from the Farmers' Market. They stayed for coffee, after which I went down to the market for a quick look round. Avoided the temptations of the plant stall, but came home with some scones.

Mid-afternoon, after MrM had finished working on a guitar commission, he drove us over the military road through Coquetdale. On the way we passed a small herd of wild goats. From the parking spot for Chew Green  we did a short walk up to Coquet Head on the Border Ridge. It was warm and windy, but there was 'weather' coming in - fortunately in stayed on the Scottish side of the ridge (extra)!

Back to the van and over to Redesdale by a slightly longer route than planned. A couple of dozen cows were standing on the road around two drinking troughs, and stubbornly refusing to move! No way to drive around them, so MrM had no option but to back up, go back to the junction, and take the other road!

Finally Sunday dinner at the Redesdale Arms, the first time since before the start of the pandemic, and it didn't disappoint. What a treat!
