Prairie Wind

Incessant wind buffeted every piece of vegetation in sight. It seemed foolish to even try photographing, but I did anyway and was glad to find I got a half decent shot. A few wildflowers and even a monarch butterfly, in the bright sunshine, set against dark leaves of the willow tree in shade. The red cardinals looking especially striking against green foliage.

Moving flowers did not leave much room for manoeuvre with camera settings resulting in a narrow depth of field and some blurriness in the foreground. Strangely though that gives the flowers in focus more punch.
