The 'other' Moonwatch...

On this day in 1971, Apollo 15 launched for the Moon. Astronaut Dave Scott sneaked his own Bulova watch onboard and ended up wearing it on the surface of the Moon during his walk there as his issued Omega Speedmaster broke. Omega was a Swiss company and Bulova was (at the time) an American company - a lot of Americans believed that American astronauts should be wearing American items...
