They're Back!

I was at one of the farms who were involved in the Tree Sparrow Project I have just finished and it was good to see that with a bit of sunshine they were busy on nest building in the boxes.

This is one of 480 boxes erected over the last few years at 10 sites around Angus, through the Supporting Taysidee's Tree Sparrow Project and funded by The Tayside Biodiversity Action Fund. Project has been a great success with 200 of them being used by Tree Sparrows last year!!!

In case anyone doesn't know these are the counrty cousin of the House Sparrow, more attractive to my mind with their chestnut coloured head and little black cheek patches. You can't tell whether this is the male or female either as unlike the House Sparrow these guys look the same.
