In the New European Simon Critchley writes: "Reality presses in on all sides with a relentless force, a violence, that drains our energy and dissipates our capacity for belief and for joy ... This is a leaden time, a heavy time, a time of dearth. As a result, we feel miserable, anxious, wretched, bored."

Given the state of the news, I know how he feels. On the other hand you can do what I just did. Stand on a hill, look out quietly over a landscape and  inhale this.
