Goodbye UK

Friday was spent travelling, or waiting around,

I caught the early bus to Heathrow and waited for Peter to arrive from Cardiff. We then waited to board or plane to Tokyo.

The rest of the day was on the plane. Travelling east loses hours from the day, eight hours actually; so we moved into Saturday in the air.

The plane was surprisingly empty. Maybe it was the threat of total annihilation from North Korea, but not many people seemed to be wanting to travel to Japan. We were given the exit seats in economy, maybe they were trying to tell us something, which meant we had ample leg room and were able to kick our shoes off and stretch out, not that I managed any sleep, I always find it difficult to sleep on planes.

The picture is taken in Virgin Atlantic's departure lounge.
