Staubifalls

We cycled along a gravel path to reach the beautiful Staubifalls this afternoon. You could hear the rocks tumbling down it from the hamlet of Asch which is where we stopped.

Had a spectacular walk today. Set off early from the van and walked up to the Gemsfairenhuttli then along the ridge to the Clariden glacier lake. On the way we saw a cuckoo, marmots and had a close encounter with three female Black Grouse. (See extra)The lake was in an amazing setting and it had floating ice from the glacier.

After spending some time at the glacier lake we walked on to the top of the Klausenpass and, after a coffee, back to the van. We drove on to Unterschachen (where we cycled to the waterfall) and then found a paying campervan spot for the night. A huge thunderstorm came in and we couldn’t help thinking of our son camping in the rain on his long distance walk.
