Jessie …

… might not be its name, but I saw this attractive little bird today at Jessie Gap in the Eastern MacDonnell Ranges, just outside Alice Springs. It’s a Hooded Robin, a bird I have not seen before. Jessie is a male.

In the same area is Emily’s Gap. The area had good rain at the end of summer and there is still water in the creek bed, as it cuts through the range (extra 1). There were thousands of Zebra Finches visiting the waterhole (extra 2). Perhaps they are all called Emily.
