A walk down the Esk Valley

We were up early to catch the first train from Grosmont along the Esk Valley. Twenty minutes later we left the train at Castleton Moor to start the 14 mile walk back to the car. We stopped at the Danby Moors Centre for 'A Woodland Sanctuary' an exhibition of woodland photos by photographers Simon Baxter and Joe Cornish. Fabulous images - something to aspire to!

The collage shows Danby Beacon, Beggars Bridge (a packhorse bridge over the Esk at Glaisdale built in 1619) and the ancient stone pathway (the Monks' Trod) between Glaisdale and Egton Bridge.

An excellent day out!
