Samson and Goliath

Caught this view as we had to go into Belfast yesterday evening.
Samson and Goliath are the two cranes seen here at each end of the largest dry dock in the world, at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast. The cranes stand at 70 metres in height and between them can lift 1,600 tonnes, again one of the largest in the world.
Many famous ships were built here, including the most famous of all, the "Titanic".
The first steam ship to be built here was the "SS Venetian" in 1860. Sadly, no ships are built here now, and the yard has digressed into more general marine engineering projects.
