More flights

Leaving the others in Las Vegas wasn’t too bad as I’ll see them in Edinburgh soon and we are ready to come home.

Finished packing and had a quick takeaway coffee and croissant in the room before we checked out and got a taxi to the airport. The airport is full of slot machines just to tempt the unwary into spending even more dollars. We didn’t.

Had a delicious freshly made sandwich before we got on the plane to Washington. The curse of the Kate takeoff hit us and we were almost an hour late leaving LV. The air steward was good enough to keep checking on our arrival time but we were getting more and more anxious as to whether we’d make our connection. The pilot asked over the tannoy for us to put our hands up as he read out a number of destinations. The other passengers were asked to take a good look at us and to stay in their seats when we landed to allow us off first to give us a chance to make our connections. And you know what, everyone one of them did stay seated and we’re offering supportive messages as we flew off.

We made it just as our Edinburgh flight was boarding but weren’t hopeful that our bags would (although I was more hopeful than Mr PHL).

Comfortable enough flight with a decent pasta dish for dinner. Didn’t even try to sleep as I’m not usually successful on planes. Watched all 6 episodes of Sherwood and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing my own bed.
