Protecting the cactus...

It was our Church fete today and there was a short shower of rain in the morning. Someone must have been drying their umbrella on the cactus, and this provided a good Saturday blip for me.
It's been two years since the last fete, the proceeds going to various mission fields that the church is involved in.  Makes me think of the amazing mission to Egypt hubby and I went on some years ago - an unforgettable and humbling experience.
Hopefully a good amount of money was made - judging by the many stalls that were sold out before closing time, many sales had been made. Hubby as usual was there to do quick charcoal portraits. He has come back with some commissions which will keep him busy. And he sold some of his books, with all sales of books  and portraits going towards the worthy cause.
