Stress

I had another day off to get the pick up serviced up in Inverness. It also gave an opportunity to have my bike checked over given that it has done between 500 and 900 miles now.

On the way up we got a call saying there was am airlock at the croft water supply and we had guests staying this week.

If a rose blockage occurs (easy after a rain storm) and the hill tank is allowed to empty it can draw air in and it is a devil of a thing to get going again. We got a man out immediately and he got the tank to start filling again, When we got back I visited the guests and tried various techniques to get the air to move but ultimately it needs passage of a few hours to fix itself. The supply is shared with three other properties. I can't figure out the sequence of events but there was apparently some awareness of there being an issue before it stopped completely.

The cottage is less than a mile from a Scottish Water mains service reservoir. We would happily pay the extra in Council Tax to have a reliable supply but apparently there is no plan to extend distribution in this direction

The guests have been remarkably good about the inconvenience and the water started coming in again later.

The photo; Mrs SJR won this outdoor pizza oven in a raffle. The product was delicious but I couldn't enjoy it for the stress as the water had not restarted by this point.
