One daze at a time...

No way aRonda it

The blip to summarise a day trip to Ronda has to be the Ronda Shot.

Except that only Mrs Raheny and I saw the real thing. The others were too hot (or too focused on the impending visit to the ice cream parlour with Uncle Justin) to bother their sweaty arses walking down (and eventually back up) the little winding path to the viewing point that allows to see the bridge from beneath.
Going to Ronda without reaching this viewing platform is the equivalent of an astronaut going to Cape Canaveral but deciding that it is too tiring to climb into the space shuttle...

It seems that the obsession for health and safety is yet to reach Spain. We saw a whole family getting their souvenir shot taken at a spot where just one collective step back would have meant a whole pile of mangled corpses at the bottom of the gorge.

The kids and the whole gang did do the Casa del Rey Moro though, and walked all the steps down to the river level. As there were no "no swimming" signs down there, I assumed that swimming is authorised. It would make sense, no?
