Acrobatics

I took a short walk along the canal before tackling the weekly shop. It was great to see so many damselflies around, and the odd (uncatchable) dragonfly.  Many were paired up, and I did see a few classic hearts, but liked this one with the male hanging on to a handy stem and the female poised really to perform her acrobatics and join up to make the mating circle.  

What was less good to see was the very low water levels of the canal, and with little of no rain forecast for the next week or so parts of this canal, with no direct reliable water source, could be at risk of drying up.
