Rooftops

... old and new, including that well-known supermarket giant, ESCO, seen from the canal path in Maryhill.

Also visible, but not all that obvious, is one of the high-rise blocks of flats in the Wyndford estate, where the barracks for the Highland Light Infantry were situated until 1960. Some of my pupils in the nearby Gairbraid Primary School lived in that estate (in the early 70s) and still referred to them as "the barracks".

The older buildings in the foreground are more likely to be relics of the area's industrial past.
