Shaftesbury…

This photo, looking through the abbey museum window onto the gardens and up to the abbey. A wonderful view. My first extra gives more information.

We began our visit at Gold Hill and the walk down the cobbled road made famous by the Hovis advert. After a roast dinner pub lunch we climbed (slowly) back up through the park onto the area outside the museum and gardens. By then the sun had come out and everything was transformed. It really does make a difference to a British summer.

Once back home, we sat in our garden with books and a cuppa. Of course, we watched the Womens’ Euro final! Fantastic!

It’s been a great few days. Tomorrow we head back to our homes, very grateful for this time together.
