Countess

This morning I went for a walk with the walking group along lanes and canal towpath at Maesbury.

This boat is called Countess. She is built in the style of a Victorian packet boat and used to give rides along the canal pulled by Cracker the horse. After lockdown both Cracker and his handler retired and there have been appeals for someone to take it on, to no avail.

She now sits by the side of the canal looking rather forlorn which is a shame as it it was a popular attraction.

I enjoyed watching the tense Women's Euro final, England did so well to win and a great game too.
