Brugge means "Bridge"

We left home early and took the Dover - Calais ferry. We drove to Bruges and there we met our German friends, Susan and Jurgen.

This meeting was by way of celebration of the fifty years of our friendship. We met on holiday in Italy in 1963 and have been friends, mostly by letter and email, ever since!

After our long journeys we chose a leisurely option for our late afternoon tour. We took a boat ride on the famous canals. Bruges was packed with tourists on this warm spring afternoon.
