Abbey prayers.

Spent a weekend on a retreat next to the ruins of Waverley Abbey. The original structure was built in 588 AD. It became a Sistercian monastry in 1129. The dissolution of the monastries in 1586 led to its destruction. Local residents plundered the stones for building their houses. Some of the structure remains and is cared for by English heritage.
Some of my retreat buddies can be seen praying over the land.
Grateful for space to pray and dream in amongst the business of life. Watching the red kite whirl above and time spent with some awesome people.
