Ouse bridge

Today was very much like yesterday, more dull than bright.  This is Ouse bridge crossing over the Derwent as it leaves Bassenthwaite Lake.  The river is flowing faster than it has been, but it is clear and lower than the last time I was here.  This shot would have been impossible as the river level was higher then.  The bridge is a single carriageway.  In my cycling time trialing days this bridge was part of the circuit of Bass Lake (17miles.)  It also featured in a Tour of Britain where the professionals were here and then gone before you knew it!
