Wood Anemones - Anemone nemorosa

Apparently, most seeds are infertile so it mainly spreads vegetatively via its roots. Consequently, wood anemones may only migrate a few feet per century. They are therefore mostly to be found at sites of ancient woodland rather than newly created woods.

These were found near the town of Leslie in Fife.
