It is amazing what Birmingham has managed to pull off as we host the commonwealth games! So many little touches as well as huge efforts! And SO SO many volunteers, everywhere!

Auntie Margaret let me know while we were on camp that she had two spare tickets (from Becks Draycot who couldn’t go) to go watch the beach volleyball. Allegra was meant to go with me but had a melt down just before (probably over tiredness from camp - and I do think in hindsight it would have been too much for her in her current state!). But it was such a brilliant afternoon - blazing sunshine, with Auntie Margaret and Peggy, and an amazing atmosphere - loud cheering (especially for the game blipped where England (twin brothers - the Bello brothers - originally from Spain - you can see one serving in the blip) beat Cyprus), a dance troupe between matches, and a DJ throughout!
