Thirst!

Along with two French couples, we have several blind wine tastings each summer, taking it in turn to go to each other's houses. Everyone brings wine for the tasting, and food for lining our stomachs. Tonight we were at Jean-Pierre and Jacqueline's house. He is a retired photographer and she is a commercial printer. The other couple are Bertrand and Claire. She works in the Mairie and Bertrand is one of a handful of experts in the world who can repair, maintain and build church organs. He services the organ in Notre Dame in Paris.

Here you see Jean-Pierre with the glasses laid out on the table in front of him, anticipating the "dégustation".

We had a great tasting and a selection of tasty nibbles, from quiche to fish terrine. Finally the women sat at the table, and thinly sliced fresh apples to lay out on squares of pastry and bake in the oven - instant apple tart, with Jean-Pierre's home-made mango sorbet.

Magic!
