A Spiky Cactus

An careless encounter with a spiky cactus can be quite unpleasant. Approached in the right way though, and treated with respect they take on a different character. This morning I thought that I would photograph this one on the window shelf, with the garden greenery through the window behind. To retain the detail on the cactus I used the camera flash as I was shooting against the light outside.
