A lot going on

So, James needed a lift to the doctor's for a routine blood test and blood pressure test. The guy came to clean the conservatory roof, which he did an OK job of except that the main finial fell off when he touched it. It fell with a huge bang but luckily didn't smash any windows.

Now the guy is here to service the air con units that have been in the house since we bought it fifteen years ago. Apparently they are in fairly good nick for such old units but fifteen years would normally be the upper end of their life span. Probably because we try to only use them when we can't get cool any other way.

The woods were lovely and cool today, although all the grass everywhere is brown.

I'm playing a game on my laptop called Beyond A Steel Sky - it's a modern game following on from the style of the old point and click adventure games. There is a lot of speech, and you can set the spoken language to German and the text to English, which is what I've done. It's a fun way to listen to more German.
