All aboard!

When we first decided to rent this house in Greece, we said that if any of the kids wanted to come and stay for a few days, they'd be more than welcome. In the end, three of them took us up on the offer: Charlie is coming out in a couple of weeks' time, but Mia and Abi arrived today.

So once we'd finished work for the day and had a swim, the Minx and I set off back to Athens to pick them up from the airport. We'd noticed a slow puncture in one of the tyres, yesterday, which we topped up at the garage, but I ended up changing at the beach this morning in a rare display of practicality. (And then I reassured myself with the effort I'd put into tightening the wheelnuts as we sped back to Athens.)

On the way to the airport, we overtook this truck full of melons. As you'd expect, fresh fruit and veg is in abundance here. There's even an orange tree in our garden!

The girls arrived safely and on good form, and were good company all the way back to the house. And thanks to the weather and the social hours kept in Greece - or at least this part of it - we were able to go out at half-eleven and sit outside for a meal.
