The Old Forge (Friday 5th August 2022)

Diary blip. It had been 16 days since Hotdiggity Gardens were last booked in, in the form of Refna, and after the hot, dry spell of the last few weeks it was very much a rescue operation. It wasn't that I hadn't been watering things but it seems it was the wrong sort of water, or watering; or the wrong sort of compost, or the wrong sort of plants. Either way it was a busy and constructive morning.

There have been queues of traffic at the bottom of the drive for the last few days due to traffic lights and roadworks, and I wandered up the road to find out what was going on. It turned out to be a company laying full-fibre cables on behalf of Virgin Media, but as far as I understand it, the cabling will be accessible to other companies such as Sky and BT.

I have been waiting for this to happen and indeed these roadworks may be partly my fault as I will be switching to a full-fibre service from BT beginning in a fortnight's time.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Katherine Priddy - Letters From a Travelling Man (Glastonbury 2022)(recorded live for 6Music, Glastonbury Festival, 29 June 2022)
It has now been over a month since this year's Glastonbury Festival and the sets are beginning to disappear from the BBC iPlayer. This performance, recorded exclusively for the BBC, is available via You Tube, and features Katherine Priddy, from Birmingham, who has been championed by Richard Thompson, no less. Here is a blog about her custom-made new guitar.
