The Anderton Boat Lift

An afternoon out to meet up with a good friend at Marbury Country Park in Northwich. We decided to walk from the main car park over to the Anderton Boat Lift, but before we set off, we went to have a look at the Lido. As it opens again for the summer next week, it was being painted and generally tidied up, and a lady there kindly allowed us into the area, and told us all about the pool, including its 90 year history. It was strange to see it empty, but it still gave me a feeling of anticipation for when it is filled. It's quite a thing to have an outdoor pool - so many were closed during the 70's and 80's, and so we are determined to make use of this great facility.

By the time we walked over to the boat lift it was raining heavily and we couldn't get that close to it anyway without going into the tourist attraction. The day was defined more by our wonderful pool glimpse opportunity, so I'm regretting not taking any photos while we were in there.
