Just like a pair of earrings

A walk round part of the National Trust Crarae Gardens this afternoon. Just outside the shop/cafe/ticket sales office there was a bush of these rather exotic looking flowers. No label that I could see so used the app on my phone and although the leaves look like holly leaves I think the plant is a Desfontania Spinosa which can be found growing in the wild in the South American Andes.

A day of sunshine and showers ..... we had just got back into the car, clutching our Magnum and Cornetto, when the heavens opened. By the time I finished my Cornetto the battering on the car roof ceased.
