Spot the genius!

This morning we decided to walk into De Haan along the beach rather than the road.  It was a beautiful sunny day with a lovely breeze and the North Sea was surprisingly warm, even though unlike quite a few people who were actually swimming we only paddled (see extra).  We wanted to find the statue of Albert Einstein who lived in De Haan for a few months in 1933, after fleeing Germany and before emigrating to the United States.  There were a few questions Alistair wanted to ask him.  They got on famously, as you can see!

We had lunch in town, plus the obligatory ice cream on the front, and then walked back along the beach to the hotel.  What a lovely way to spend a Saturday!

Thanks davidc for hosting Silly Saturdays.
