Octopus's Garden

Up early to be collected from our jetty (island life, eh?) and taken to the dive shop. We transferred to the dive boat and headed out to our dive site - Hol Chan. CarbBoy and I were snorkelling, and the other two diving. There were only four of us on the boat - with a dive master and a snorkel guide, so it was a private tour really.

The water was a perfect temperature and we saw loads - too many types of fish to count, beautiful coral, and a couple of turtles. This shot is one of the sharks TallGirl saw - she had my camera as they were doing a shallow dive.

Once done, we moved on a bit to Shark Alley - where local fishing crews used to clean their catch. Now the dive boats throw in food so we get to snorkel up close with sharks and rays and other fish (nurse sharks, not dangerous ones, obviously!) Not sure what I think about that really. It was exciting to see them up close though.

Back to the apartment and a quick turnaround for Mr B to take the golf cart back, then out to lunch just up the road. Lazy afternoon, then Mr B and TallGirl headed out for a night dive.

They were back late, so we ate simply (noodles and eggs).
