Shopping

The day started with the usual weekend routine: cleaning the flat. The bathroom needed extra scrubbing to deal with the dust the decorators had left. The peeling paint in the bathroom is now sorted and the hall is shining in plain white. It is making a huge difference. Funny it is taking us moving away to sort this out.

We found some more stuff that needed to go to the charity shop, a form of reverse shopping. Lunch at the Noodle Box. We then used the opportunity to visit the Anatomy exhibition at the Museum of Scotland. It was good but not what I had expected. It was more a history of anatomy rather than the science, so Burke and Hare featured rather prominently. I did really like the da Vinci notes on anatomy the Queen found in her attic.

In the evening we went to the pub to catch up with our friends for some farewell drinks. We have two distinct groups, one we met when the kids went to primary school and the other set when they went to the German Saturday school.  It was really nice to see everyone. This was the first time since well before the pandemic that everybody met. We all had a great time. We hope to get many visitors.

I will be around for another 3 weeks so there is some time to catch up.
