Days of the Triffids.

This year I am having the first stab at growing butternut squash from seed. I remember being disappointed for some weeks after transplanting them 
(2 ) because there was little or no growth. Suddenly there was an enormous growth spurt and so it has continued - in all directions. I will have to take some firm action with the pruners to restore some sort of order.
