Salvage from the Wreckage

On track

H and Flo arrived from Paris on Tuesday and Flo promptly tested positive for Covid. This raised some questions about the upcoming holiday at which M and L were due to join us.
We all WFHd until Thursday.
I had to put the roofbox onto the Yeti but the roofbars had a different size slot to the Mini so I needed to buy some new square-headed bolts. Did a click and collect from the local Halfords who had them in stock. Until they rang to say that they DIDN’T have them in stock but Bletchley did. So did a click and collect there. Until THEY rang to say that they didn’t have them in stock either. But Leighton Buzzard did. Did a CnC there and then drove over. Collected the kit but, checking in the car park, the bolts were missing! WTF! Back inside to be told that someone had probably used the bolts to fit a customer’s roof box and put the depleted bag back on the shelf! WTF!
They could get some for Tuesday . I explained that I was travelling tonight and they had the absolute fecking temerity to suggest that I was leaving it a bit late!
If I couldn’t find the bolts anywhere, that was on me, but if they SAID that they had them when they hadn’t, that was fecking well on them!
They found an own-brand alternative that DID have all its contents so all was well but I wasn’t impressed.
Anyway, packed up - all finishing later than I had hoped and then Luna, who had manifested a dodgy stomach nrcessitating a quick trip to the vet’s, demanded a late-night poo walk. And then another in the middle of the night. Ahead of the 4:00 alarm.
I had been firm but clear that we were leaving at 4:30. No ifs or buts. And, sure enough, we left at 5:00.

We had found a walk around Luxulyan valley an hour short of Falmouth and that proved a nice, cool walk for us all. We used an app called iWalk Cornwall which was very good. £2.99 a walk but I decided that this compared with sprnding £10 on a book of walks snd then only having 1 or 2 close enough to do. The app has nearly 300 walks anf socumdnts them well with GpS prompted route reminders and interesting notes.
After the walk we finished the drive to Falmouth and the rather swish house in which the six of us (to say nothing of the dog) were to stay.
M and L had elected to give the virus a couple of days so it was just the 4 of us plus dog for the first wander down to the beach and wet-suit-assisted dip!
Fish and Chips from Harbour Lights.
Flo impressed by this English staple.
