Hawker at Langstone

The call of the sea saw me heading to Hayling Island in Hampshire. I parked up just over the Langstone Bridge and instead of taking the island coast walk, walked back across the bridge and around Langstone Harbour instead.

The old mill pond is now a a magnet for wildlife, but unfortunately not very accessible for camera lenses due to the high reed beds surround it. However I found one gap and was delighted to catch this migrant hawker dragonfly on the wing.

The extra shows the view across the harbour to Langstone and the old mill.
