Clay

I went to look more closely at the earth under my topsoil. I know from how heavy the soil in the garden soil is to dig when it is wet and the impossibility of digging it at all when it is dry that my house is built on clay and this makes it very clear. I almost want to scoop some out and make a pot. I don't know whether the clay drying out and cracking in the current heat is a problem or not. I will ask at the next site meeting on Tuesday.
