Nathaniel’s day

It seemed very cool this morning - down to 21 from 39 yesterday must have shocked our systems!

#2 daughter and family went to Perugia where it was better though they had a mission to find parking. We had a few big rain plops and distant thunder/lightening which made us reluctant to go for a walk or a swim. Later in the day the sun came out and we swam. Till then Ella read her book and Nathaniel had a quiet play with his little plastic heroes.

Unfortunately he thought his new gladiator was also plastic but it was breakable and the worst happened in combat. He (the gladiator, not the small boy) then toppled into the water feature/ fountain where he lost his head. Nathaniel climbed in to try to find it but the water was a bit murky so in the end an adult got him a sieve. He panned for gold till he got the head. I’m not sure how he’ll manage in the future colosseum battles headless.

Luke is cooking tonight. Maybe I should have waited to blip that as it will be delicious. However he is a slow chef - #3 daughter thinks it could be midnight!

The owner texted to say we should expect the electrician to fix the washing machine, broken since we got here, at 1pm tomorrow. We said we’d be out all day (#3 daughter’s birthday and we are all going out to Castiglione del Lago where she and Luke got married.) She’d going to have to come to let him in.
