Wide Wednesday . . . Houses

The scaffolding and blue plastic is surrounding a house in the street behind mine.  The work seems to have been going on for months and providing lots of interest for us in the street.  It is what is called a leaky home.  It would have been built between 1988 to 2004.  It had a flat roof and for a number of reasons it's water tightness failed.  Water from the outside has made it's way in causing damage.  We speculate it is having a new roof with a pitch to it and new cladding.  Leaky homes are an ongoing construction and legal crisis in New Zealand.   Further up the street the same builder built a house that has recently been reclad.  Sometimes the builder goes into liquidation, sometimes the cladding was the issue and owners get together and sue the company.  It is a nightmare for the owners I am sure and something home buyers need to be aware of.  Thanks Bob for keeping it wide on Wednesdays.
As you can see the sun is shinning again.  My welcome home cake was somewhat successful.  I will read the method more carefully next time.
