Hiding from the Heat

Every house in our street has the shutters down, at least for the lived-in rooms. Today’s temperature reached 32,5 degrees C, and it will gradually climb to 36 by Sunday. 

I have lost count with this summer’s heatwaves. Is this the fourth or fifth since June? They blend together as a long, exhausting time of baking hot days and unpleasantly tropical nights, full of weather warnings and wildfire alerts.
