We walked the ~3.5 miles to Grange today. It was really warm, although for most of the journey, shaded by trees.
The station is beautifully Victorian. Such detail costs money (or is impossible to achieve) these days so we have steel and plastic instead that soon looks scruffy, unwelcoming and utilitarian. I would love to travel from this station.
Later I saw a diesel freight loco go through pulling nuclear flasks from Barrow-in-Furness.
