Once upon a time...

... there was a forest of fir and spruce.
Now the forest has been cleared because all the trees were dead or damaged by the drought and bark beetle infestation.

It's a sad sight and I'm always happy that we have a beautiful mixed forest. Where unfortunately there are also some dead trees, but not so large areas.
